Oakland Pride

Oakland Pride

Ruth Stroup Insurance was excited to participate in Oakland Gay Pride 2014  festivities and in particular was interested in running an ad for the Insurance Lady in the Pink Spots directory, which is distributed free to cafes and bars and other businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area.  We had a ball brainstorming a lavish illustration of the Insurance Lady in the Pride parade, complete with Dykes on Bikes, drag queens and a colorful diverse community cast. Ultimately we decided on a more simple design that took advantage of existing artwork in a new way. Placing the colorful Oakland scenery we created for her office window mural into the PRIDE lettering got the message across very nicely with the Rainbow flag as backdrop.

It’s always wonderful to see how the Ruth Stroup agency strives to participate the community in such an open and generous way, and I’m proud for my work to be a part of that. There’s no doubt the Insurance Lady made a few new friends this month thanks to this full size back page ad in Pink Spots .
