Women’s Equestrienne Jacket
This elegant and stylish jacket was only offered in Fall 1985 and came as a suit with a skirt (not pictured).
From the catalogue: “Elegant and romantic as the gaslight era, yet bold as its dauntless horsewomen, the Equestrienne Suit was inspired by a turn-of-the-century riding outfit. We took this thoroughbred of a design and gave it an update in the most modern fabric-our rough, tough, cotton canvas Outback cloth, at home in the saddle or the Cessna. Yet rugged as it is, the Equestrienne Suit boasts every amenity the gentlewoman expects: authentic horn buttons, leather button loops, leather pocket trim, matching leather bely-and a truly magnificent genuine sheepskin collar. The jacket’s styled with epaulets and cape back. The mid calf A-line skirt buttons up the front-unbuttons for riding or striding. An elegant traveling suit for the woman born to ride-horse, Harley, the Orient Express, the Concorde, or occasionally shotgun.”
