No-Horse Shirt
The copy from the Fall 1986 catalogue tells it all: “The story so far: When we introduced this shirt, quite a few seasons back, we called it the Un-Alligator shirt, our commentary on encroaching logoization. Later, we renamed it No-Polo in homage to a certain designer who trotted countless ponies across countless chests. His attorneys were not amused. We debated re-naming it the No-Lawsuit Shirt, but thought that might leave a few of you scratching your heads at the joke. So we’ll stick to the facts: no horse. And no monkey business: just 100% two-ply cotton piqué knit with horn buttons and a pleasing selection of low-key colors. And that’s no bull.”

Purple No-Horse Shirt, new with tags! Note that the three shirts below all have tags that say Two-Ply Cotton Pique and are made in Thailand.

Black

Red

The shirt below has a different origin/materials tag: Hong Kong and it doesn’t say Two-Ply Cotton Pique, only 100% cotton. I’d speculate this is an earlier version.
