Four Winds Jacket AKA Windbuffer Jacket

Originally called the Four Winds Jacket in Spring 1987, the Windbuffer Jacket was offered from Summer 1987 through Spring 1988 in 4 different colors (khaki, white, blue and coffee) depending on the season.

From the catalogue: “They do make ’em like that anymore-if they choose to ignore the dictum that time means money. We took our time-two years, in fact-making sure our Windbuffer Jacket lived up to the idea of what it should be. Both shell and lining of this classic wind-cheater style jacket are made of tightly woven, pre-washed cotton. It’s subtle, earthy colors already have the patina of age. Every detail is carefully thought out and meticulously worked-there are pockets everywhere you need them, and nowhere you don’t. Proof positive that real character can’t be rushed.”

I love this jacket. I got one originally from one of the 1987 catalogs, then got to visit a couple of the stores. I wore out that one, fraying the cuffs mainly. A few years ago I searched out and found another identical and continue to wear it when the weather is fitting. Both in the khaki color. I love the fit and the natural fabric of it.
