Women’s Touring Jacket

Photo from an eBay auction, 2019.

Such a classic look from BR, this women’s Touring Jacket paired with a matching long skirt, the fabulous money belt and the famous Traveling Boots. The jacket differs from the classic safari jacket in the lack of breast pockets and a more tailored, elegant look. A khaki twist on the Amelia Earhart style.

From the Fall 1986 catalogue: “Tall, trim, and tailored, this is a jacket that travels unflappably from overland excursion to overpriced restaurant to overnight detour. Made of unparalleled Egyptian cotton–strong, lightweight, water repellent–and fully lined in cotton poplin, it quietly conceals five large pockets, four without, one within. Like travelers we admire, it’s pragmatic at no sacrifice to elegance.”
