Yukon Shirt Dress
Sold only in the Spring 1988 Catalogue, the Yukon Dress seems a little late in coming. The sibling to the Yukon Shirt, which dates back to 1982 seems a logical choice for a company that loves its shirt dresses.
From the Spring 1988 Catalogue: “This is the tale of a shirt that grew into a dress. A modern saga that starts with our Yukon shirt–long-sleeved and long on comfort, but alas, too short to wear solo. so we’ve taken everything that’s best about the shirt–cozy, pigment-dyed cotton and easy, forgiving knit–and made a bit more of it. The result is a soft stretch of a traveling dress: comfortable, easygoing. And so a good short story becomes a tall tale with a happy ending.”
This example was gifted to Abandoned Republic from the collection of Mel and Patricia Ziegler.
