Copacabana Shorts

From the Spring/Summer 1985-1986, and 1988 catalogs: “A sublimely romantic design, these are the classic shorts worn by the heroines of those delightful ’40s musicals–vibrant traveling women forever on the road to Bali-Hai or flying down to Rio, dancing up a storm wherever there were palm trees and the scent of jasmine in the night air. Designed with plenty of thigh room for high kicks, the shorts were cut with wide-flared legs; they had double pleats, side buttons, and a generous waistband for maximum flattery and freedom. Coincidentally perhaps, that happnes to be about the most comfortable combination we’ve come across. We’ve replicated them in 100% cotton twill sure to blend into your own palmy paradise. A fit so smashing it’ll make you want to pin a gardenia in your hair and dance a mad fandango.”
