Cabled Vest

Sold only in Holiday 1986 and 1987. From the catalogue: “The fisherfolk of the British Isles have a rich tradition of distinctive knitting patterns, many of them derived from their daily lives. Look closely at our Cabled Vest, and you’ll see fishing ropes twisting and trellising up to the moss stitch of the shawl collar. The zigzag diamonds are adaptations of “marriage lines” that chart the ups and downs of matrimony. Hand-knit of thick, natural-hued wool with all the nubs and fine hairs left in for texture, the vest is as snuggly as it is storied.”

I worked at the Mill Valley store in 1987-88.
I just stumbled on your website today.

I have lots of BR clothing, including the Cable Vest in Olive Drab.
On the old MAUDE tv show, Maude’s daughter wore that vest in one of the episodes!

Let me know if you are interested in photographing any of my clothing.
    I Amin the SF area.
My two favorite items that I still wear are the Traveller Boots and the lightweight khaki raincoat.

    What a great website!
