1985 Travel Classics Flier
Presumably, this flier was sent to recent subscribers to the catalogue, because there is a message from Mel and Patrica Ziegler, which opens with “We hope you enjoyed your first catalogue…” The flier folds down to the size of a catalogue cover, in this case the 1985 Summer Wanderlust issue, and opens to poster size. Inside is a selection of items from the catalog and on the opposite side is a fold-out old-fashioned map showing North and South America, with Mill Valley marked on the map.
“To our way of thinking, a classic is that which only improves with use. At Banana Republic, that’s one of the principles we live by. We’re constantly combing the globe for time-tested sartorial gems–or wear-testing and designing new ones to fill our evolving needs. Time is kind to the things we like best: Shirts grow softer, hats more shapely, jackets better seasoned. Like good friends, old favorites never go out of style. They’re always faithful, always available–and we love them more all the time.”
