This project was a case where I did not create the artwork or graphic design, but still used my design and illustration tools to create a unified presentation that complimented and showcased the work.

Presidential Monsters are an amazing line of action figures from Heroes In Action toys. Creator Mark Huckabone sought out top tier fantasy artists to design and illustrate the unusual combination of classic monsters with iconic political figures. The art was fantastic, the toys are incredible, and the website needed to match. The WordPress site was built by customizing the Clean Retina theme, a responsive theme that looks and works great on all devices.

I wanted to showcase the stunning visual art and give an immediate sense of the breadth of characters HIA had created while at the same time making it easy to find which one you wanted and buy it. A simple 4×4 grid of all 16 characters lined up on the front page was unsatisfying and static(and a little crowded!). I instead imagined a Hall of Portraits in the haunted White House and presented the 4 series of characters on a scrolling slider.

The deadline for this project was the San Diego Comic-Con and while the team was on the ground at the convention I was handling their social media, posting to Facebook and Twitter. It was great fun and exactly what I love to do.
