High Top Happy Hour with DJ Shortkut

After the success of the artwork for the Wedding Weirdos podcast, Cage and Aquarium needed a logo and a poster for their 1980’s themed hip hop DJ happy hours. High Top Happy Hour is named after the shoes made famous by Air Jordan. They gave me free rein, and just wanted to see the shoes and they wanted the words in a cartoon pop style. I was inspired by a ‘KungFu Fighting” attitude for these old school kicks! The posters and postcards were designed with blank space so the venue details can be written in sharpie later as needed. A second poster featured a special guest star DJ Shortkut, and Tyler at Cage and Aquarium and I came up with a short action comic inspired by old advertisements in comic books.
